It now takes 4-6 months to order a wedding gown that is made to order, made to measure, or custom, so most brides shopping for 2022 weddings will be purchasing “ Off The Rack”. OTR means that you are buying a dress that already exists that you can try on and, hopefully, be able to return. J.Crew introduced the first OTR bridal line in 2010.  Now, many companies are offering wedding dresses you can purchase, try, and return. It is becoming the most common way to purchase your gown.    

Off the rack dresses can be new or pre-loved, from your fave retailer, from a thrift or resale shop, vintage store, Craigslist or ebay, from one of the many online gown resale sites, or a sample from a Bridal Salon that you can purchase and take with you.
